Don Bosco Veedu plans to provide an after-school tutoring program for the children living in slums in Trivandrum. Children from slums are often neglected by the entire school system. Due to poverty, they don't have access to other study materials too. 'Remedial Education Program' aims to aid children in acquiring perfect grades with the help of quality educators and to also provide additional study materials (guides, etc). We wish to support them to reach new heights and uplift their community.
The school-going children from slums are always ignored by the school system. This negatively impacts their school life as they are never offered opportunities like every other student. This builds a hatred in them towards school and education altogether. With their illiterate parents doing daily wages jobs and earning a mere income, other study materials too are out of their reach. This builds a false belief in them that they are worthless and couldn't reach anywhere.
'Remedial Education Program' focuses on after-school tutoring and providing study materials for students from slums. Here, it is ensured that every student's needs are taken care of and individual attention is provided with the help of quality educators. Monthly evaluation tests will be conducted to assess their level and modify the teaching techniques and modules accordingly. This would bridge the gap created by the negligent school system and support the children to dream high.
This project will ensure quality education for the children from slums allowing them to dream high and reach excellence. This will motivate the community to promote education in their locality. Eventually, the community will be able to reach the frontiers of the society. Quality education will also create legal awareness which in turn helps them to fight against people that tries to exploit them. Quality education will have a great impact on the upliftment of the community.
