On the International Day of Commemoration of the Victims of the Holocaust, we will honor the memory of victims of genocide and other atrocities by acting to protect lives. In Plateau, Nasarawa, and Benue States of Nigeria, families have fled violence by ISWAP and armed bandits, homes have been burned, and loved ones have been lost. This project will support survivors with relief, trauma care, and community protection while amplifying a global call: "Never again" must be now.
Genocide begins with silence. In Nigeria's Middle Belt, repeated attacks have displaced thousands, killed civilians, and shattered communities. Women and children bear the brunt, facing hunger, trauma, and loss of safety. Limited protection, scarce aid, and fading attention leave survivors vulnerable. Without urgent support, preventable suffering continues.
We will combine remembrance with action: delivering emergency relief, psychosocial support, and protection services to affected families; documenting survivor stories to break silence; and mobilizing community peace efforts. By partnering locally, we respond quickly, restore dignity, and help communities heal, turning memory into lifesaving action.
Our goal is safer and more resilient communities where civilians are protected and survivors rebuild their lives. Long term, we aim to strengthen early warning, trauma care, and community-led peacebuilding across Plateau, Nasarawa, and Benue, so remembrance fuels prevention, and "never again" becomes reality.
