Summary

Children in their young age need equal opportunities for development. Good classrooms & modern Teaching & Learning materials are needed for this! This project is aimed at renovating 4 classrooms in poor conditions in Kamsama village in Kenya & equip each of them with Modern Teaching/ Learning materials. This will enable the the children have better psychological, metal and physical development as they study in school.

Challenge

More than 800 children in early childhood education in Mbita in Kenya are faced with lack of better conditions for learning ranging from poor classes to lack of teaching & learning materials. Most f the classrooms still remain poorly done lacking teaching & learning materials. Despite having elaborate policies on children rights, the Kenyan government has not shown the will by availing funds. The project will renovate classes for 193 pupils and provide modern teaching & learning materials.

Solution

The project is aimed at renovating 4 classrooms for 30 - 40 pupils each and equip them with modern teaching and learning materials to ensure each pupils is reached individually according to their learning abilities. The renovation and equipping of classroom will take care of inclusion children abled differently and their insertion into normal earning institutions. There will be alongside inclusion of the children parents and guardians in early child education and development programs.

Long-Term Impact

Better early child education and development is key in determining the future of the children. This project will give priority to ECD starting with 193 children and their families then latter roll out to reach more children in other communities. The renovation of classrooms is expected provide permanent conducive learning environment which will only require subsequent equipment and teacher services. It will reduce poor early child development in Kamsama by estimated 35% annually.
