This Project will replace 1,000 Firewood Stoves with Clean Cookstoves in 20 States in Nigeria. This will save 60,000 Trees from being cut down for firewood per annum and about 600,000 Trees in 10 years in Nigeria
About 5 full grown trees are being cut down monthly by a family of 5 for firewood. This is about 60 trees being cut down by each household yearly for firewood. This is counter productive in the global fight against Global Warming and Climate Change, as 1,000 household will cut down about 600,000 Trees in 10 years! This project will save 600,000 Trees from being cut down in 10 years.
Global Warming Shield Foundation plans to train Youths that will produce these Clean Cookstoves and also Feed stock from Sawdust and Briquettes. The youths will be trained to train other youths and also produce these briquettes which will serve as a good means of lively hood for these Youths in the community thereby addressing the issue of youth restiveness as a result of poverty
The Project will Train 100 Youths in 20 States in Nigeria, allowing them to later train others on how to produce Clean Cookstoves and also generate money form the sale of feed stocks for the clean cookstoves which is more than 80% cheaper than kerosene or Wood. This will take the community youths out of poverty whilst saving millions of trees from being cut down for firewood
