In our work to end the systemic cycle of slavery in the Middle East and Asia, we encounter many young women who are being trafficked, raped, beaten, and forcibly removed from their families. Finding a safe place to send these women & their families is vital. The physical and emotional tolls are overwhelming. This is why we have launched Anna's House - a safe home dedicated to restoring these young girls and their families.
After freeing more then 200 people, we recognized there was a need for a rescue and rehabilitation center. The impact of slavery is psychological, emotional, and physical. People need help reshaping what life can be like outside of bonded labor. In the areas we work, young girls are subject to the worst types of treatment. The most unimaginable things happen to them. By giving young women and their families daily care for 3 months we can help reset the trajectory of their lives.
Anna's house works to help those who are at the highest risk, young women. By bringing them and their families into our home, we are able to give them daily care, and dedicate a team to their emotional and physical well being. Because the families we are helping have been working in the Brick kilns since childhood, they often have no other skills to earn income. In our short time with them we teach them new skills and get them ready for employment outside the brickyards.
Breaking the generational cycle of slavery changes the outcome for the next generation. By investing in Anna's house you're resetting the long term trajectory for young women who are at risk or have already been victim to abuse. Educating young women and showing them value is an essential part of growing healthy families.
