Capuchins move to 'ParaTi', many babies rescued

Dear supporters,

CIWY started the year on a happy note - in early January we successfully moved 19 more capuchin monkeys from Machia (15 from the 'Heaven' Area and 4 from 'Earth') to their new home in Jacj Cuisi.

We express our gratitude to everyone who supported us through GlobalGiving last year, to help us build the second area for Capuchin Monkeys, 'ParaTi', and also to provide the ongoing care of over 500 rescued animals.

Now half of Machia's capuchins have moved and we need to build 2 more capuchin areas for the rest of them. We're getting there! Keep an eye on our social media for video footage of the move and of the monkeys settling into their new environment.

In other news, CIWY has received many rescued babies recently, at both Ambue Ari and Jacj Cuisi sanctuaries. Several were rescued from wildfire, and some showed signs of previous captivity (such as scars from being tied up). These little ones require a lot of care and most are being bottle-fed milk. We hope to eventually release the baby kinkajou who was rescued from fire near Madidi National Park, while the other orphans will most likely need to remain in lifelong sanctuary.

If you would like to help with the monthly costs of their care, please consider sponsoring an animal with a monthly donation. You can learn more about the individual animals on our website, www.ciwy.org.

Thank you for supporting Bolivian wildlife.

Best wishes for a bright 2024,

The CIWY/FIWY team
