Woof Woof Final Life Line for Braylee

A little help goes a long way
A little help goes a long way
Hello Supporters,
Things have been really out of control over the past 6 months here in Cape Town, we now have 48 dogs in our care, we are bursting and the cost of dog food and medical bills have us in debt by $20,000. We sadly have no choice but to suspend our outreach events due to funding and the team have been running charitiy auctions, food drives and charity car washers to help tackle this huge vet bill and electrcity bill we need to pay off.
When things are tough we thrive our team don't stop but sadly we had a really tough case for one of our dogs, Braylee. We took our rescue to the vet as needed surgery and whie being prepped for surgery yesterday, our vet had another look at her and something was off so we did a Parvo test and Braylee tested positive. When my vet phoned me with this news, it was a gut punch because just this one thing can now destroy everything.
Anyone who knows Parvo, knows that it is a serious virus, that doesn't come to play, it comes to kill and it demolishes a puppy's immune system and lowers their white blood cell count significantly. Yes it is a disease of the stomach and intestines and where the virus does the most damage but it can also affect the bone marrow, sometimes even the heart. There is no cure for Parvo, only supportive treatment and hope.
We are not sure at this stage the extend of Parvo and we believe we must still give her a chance as you can see the fight in here eyes and therefore we have no option to raise the funds to move her into ICU to allow her to be monitored and review her recovery. This sadly means the medical bull will triple and we already are in debt to our vet clinic. We can'tsay no to any dog, she needs to be given the chance to fight and so our focus again as a team is to head out and fundraise.
We hope to survive the next 3 months and we really do thank you for supporting us, if you can help and share our project and cause with friends and family, please do we thank you!
