Well so far what a journey it has been. Over 3000 children have come through the doors of Rescue Junction, some lost, some trafficked, victims of abuse, all in need of protection care and love. But now due to the huge increase in the numbers of children and the age of the current premises we need to build a wonderful purpose built bright new centre fit for the wonderful children we serve.
The centre whose doors never close is situated in an area of great need in one of the poorest parts of India in Bihar. Desperate poverty makes it a centre for child trafficking. Covid has made the situation worse. Rescue Junction is a beacon of light rescuing hundreds of children each year from exploitation abuse and neglect .
The achievements of this 24-hour centre are impressive and include campaigns against child marriage and child labour, the establishment of a child welfare committee which takes place at the centre, a toll free emergency phone number for children and emergency covid assistance. we are constantly working with civil society to improve child safety and build a network of child protection.
There is absolutely no doubt that our policy of awareness campaigns and engagement with the railway ,law enforcement agencies and others have dramitically led to a safer envoirenment for all children in the district. With your help we intend to maintain and develop our campaigns
