Dear Supporter,
Our work rescuing animals in India is never particularly easy and we have had many challenges before, but nothing really compares with the horrific situation occurring in India right now.
The country is in a panic as hospitals, doctors and families desperately try to find the medical supplies needed to keep people alive. We are continuing our rescue work which is classed as an ‘essential service’ and although we are doing all that we can to keep our staff safe, they are still putting themselves at risk for the animals.
Our concern now is in getting enough medical supplies and consumables needed for our animal hospital, as well as the prospect of having to care for our Indian staff who are also now being affected by Covid. If our staff get sick, then we'll struggle to care for the animals that rely on TOLFA for rescue and treatment.
Your support is vital in enabling us to continue our work and keep helping the animals that need us during this uncertain and bleak time for India.
We have also set up a separate project appeal on GlobalGiving to cover the Covid-related medical costs of our staff – 50 ordinary men and women who are like family to us and are dedicated to the care of the animals we serve.
For now we are taking one day at a time, making sure we have enough food and medicines for the animals at TOLFA and continuing to go to those that need rescue and emergency care.
Thank you for being here for us
