The director of the El Caño Archaeological Project, Dr. Julia Mayo, met with the director of the Bureau of Historical Heritage of the National Cultural Institute to request formal authorization to create and open a small exhibit of the El Caño artifacts in the museum. The approval was given.
Dr. Mayo has been coordinating with the company that will create the physical supports for the artifacts that will go in the exhibit and obtaining quotes for the costs.
Repairs and renovations of the El Caño Archaeological Museum continue. Thanks to financial support of the Panamanian Tourism Authority (ATP), Mr. Eduardo Sotillo, of Penonomé, began on Monday to waterproof the roof of the museum.
