Project Report | Dec 3, 2019
Giving Tuesday is for the BIRDS

By Pamela Lee | Development Director

Thanks to your continued support, we have continued our work of rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing companion birds.  So far this year, we have taken in ~160 birds and found new homes for 116, while caring for a flock of 450 and managing vet bills averaging $45K/month.

YOUR help and that of our many dedicated volunteers are what make the miracle that is Mickaboo happen. Your donation today to continue the miracle can go further during the matching gift event underway NOW! For Giving Tuesday, December 3, 6 am - 9 pm PT, GlobalGiving will match your online donations up to $1,000 per donor per project; the match rate will be determined by how much Mickaboo raises as a percentage of all monies raised. This means donations made during the ENTIRE day will count!  But there's no need to wait - go to Mickaboo's GlobalGiving page to take advantage of this opportunity now!

Your donations help birds like Merona. Merona lived in a senior living facility for many years; he was not allowed to sing or be outside of his cage. He was spotted by a gentlewoman who cared for him for a while, but who ultimately had to find another caregiver for Merona. We are looking for a special home that will give him the best life possible for his remaining years. He is about 20 years old and has arthritis, but is full of spunk. He loves to snuggle with you!  Email us at pr@mickaboo.org if you'd be interested in adopting him; our normal adoption requirements apply.

Would you consider taking advantage of this matching gift opportunity to help Merona and our other birds heal and find permanent, loving homes?
