Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue has begun another large-scale rescue - and we need your help.
The property owned by a recently-deceased bird owner has been sold, and relatives have told us the 40+ birds in the property's aviary will be "let loose" if we don't take them in. The 20+ budgies, 15+ finches, and assorted others deserve a better fate than being released into a world where they will likely become food for predators.
If you can help us financially with this rescue's veterinary expenses - please give. The first $50 of your donation through GlobalGiving between now and Friday, September 18, 8:59 pm PT will be matched at 50%. We estimate initial expenses will be at least $1500.
If you are an approved Mickaboo foster parent or adopter with space and the ability to care for 6-8 of these birds for at least the short term, please contact us at outreach@mickaboo.org.
If you have room in your heart and your home for a new feathered companion, and would like to learn more about bird ownership, join us at our upcoming Virtual Adoption Fair! We will be showcasing a handful of our 400+ rescued birds, and answering questions live.
