During this season of giving, Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue would like to thank YOU for giving us the support and means to continue our mission of helping the unwanted and abandoned companion birds who need us. Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!
Today, if you donate during GlobalGiving's Giving Tuesday campaign, you have the opportunity to continue enabling us AND having your hard-earned funds work harder for you. Donations up to $2500 per donor per project will earn a part of the One Million Dollars (!) in matching funds.
Here are two recent success stories resulting from YOUR help.

Erin, a Meyers Parrot, came to Mickaboo in 2013 after she apparently flew away from her owner. She went to her new adoptive home recently. Her new guardian sent us this note afterwards:
Erin continues to get more and more comfortable each day. Today she enjoyed a misting and long bath in her water dish, asked me for two long head-rub sessions, chewed on her toys, and started some gentle clicker training and targeting. She had been (naturally) shy to step up out of her new cage, but with treat reinforcement, she was all over it! In fact, right now, she’s sitting on her cage door and clicking at me and leaning in my direction!

Mickaboo has been fostering two splayed budgies, Pansy and Kohei. "Splay" means they were hatched with their legs in a "spread" position, so they cannot perch normally. One (Pansy) came to us as a baby this year, and the other (Kohei) was found recently as a stray (in a cat's mouth) and surrendered to Mickaboo.
The two budgies took to each other immediately. This month they were both adopted by a family with lots of budgie experience. The pictures in this report show the contented budgies acclimating quickly to their new homes. Pansy is shown resting on her new seagrass swing. Kohei is the budgie shown sleeping in his preferred position, suspended in the corner of the cage.

We presently have ~350 birds in our rescue flock, all looking for the same happy outcome as these three.
Animal rescue, sadly, is a task that continues day after day ... and so do the veterinary expenses of that chore. Will you help us by giving during today's million-dollar matching campaign (ends at 9 pm PT on Tuesday, December 1)?
Alll of our birds and all of our volunteers will be grateful to you.
