Rescue Unwanted and Abandoned Companion Birds

Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue exists to help companion birds, large and small, connecting them to the people who care about and for them. YOUR financial support allows us to continue our mission - and this week's matching gift campaign makes your gift more effective! Two recent rescues illustrate the need, especially for the little birds:

• A budgie in a parking lot with a broken wing and leg was being attacked by crows. The good samaritan who rescued him knew she wasn't prepared to give him his best chance at surviving his injuries, so she contacted Mickaboo.
• Squeaky, a lovebird, was found as a stray near a local river. After he was surrendered to Mickaboo, a vet found that he had painful pressure sores on both hocks and his keel. Additionally, his toes appeared to have been recently chewed or damaged - and one toe tip was dying.

These birds have long healing journeys ahead of them.  Their stories are reminders that every bird, no matter how small or how "lost" they seem, deserves a chance at a safe, pain-free life.
