The pots go on early. The cooks know the people they serve—the children, working adults, and older neighbors who come through the doors knowing they will have a meal waiting for them.
During the second quarter of 2026, SAI and its partners served 16,320 meals through the community kitchen, providing consistent food support to children, adults, and seniors in the communities we serve.
Breakfast and lunch, served day after day, are the backbone of the program. People who are unable to leave their homes or beds and cannot make it to the kitchen, volunteers make sure a meal reaches their door.
The kitchens also recognize the moments that bring communities together. Birthdays, holidays, and other meaningful occasions are marked with special meals, because providing food is about more than meeting a basic need. It is also about creating a sense of dignity, community, and belonging.
None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors. Every meal served this quarter was made possible by people who chose to help ensure that children, adults, and seniors in these communities have reliable access to nutritious meals.
