This project will support 7 Chilean MicroEntrepreneurs to start all over again after suffering great damage and loss to their businesses during the social riots of 2019. As a foundation, we aim to provide exactly what it is that these entrepreneurs need to have access to their source of income and support their families. These entrepreneurs are already members of our foundation where they receive weekly educational sessions and microcredits, however they need extra capital to begin again.
On October 18th, an increase in transportation fares lead to large-scale nation wide demonstrations and riots with the public expressing their discontentment with their quality of daily life. The transportation system was burned, resulting in collapse and leaving millions of people stranded. By the end of 2019, 29 people have died with 2,500 injuries and 2,840 arrests. During these difficult times, unemployment has risen while local businesses have been looted, burned, gone bankrupt and closed.
As a foundation, we have decided to support the entrepreneurs that have been heavily affected by the riots so they can start over again and find a path to prosperity. These 7 entrepreneurs have identified exactly what they need to recuperate their business collectively amounts to $10,000 USD. Our foundation, Banigualdad, will share each story to our community, ensure the donations arrive to the entrepreneurs and support them on a weekly basis as they grow again through classes and group support.
Each person has a story, a venture and hope to emerge. Each of these 7 microentrepreneurs have a family and this will indirectly benefit approximately 30 people and their surrounding communities, allowing them to continue to break the cycle of poverty and gain access to higher standards of health and well-being. Your support will help them to feel empowered again and take their business to the next level. In these difficult times, entrepreneurship is more relevant than ever.
