We believe that each woman is capable of leading a life with physical safety, emotional well-being, and financial independence. During the pilot year of the Mirame project, we learned women are facing stronger challenges then we knew & need more of our help. Our mission is to build a city-wide support network with women's circles, more public workshops, and partnerships with women's groups to make a greater impact on women's empowerment and overall wellness, thus building stronger communities!
Women in Ecuador are often marginalized from decision making and silenced from leading their communities to bold change. This year in the Mirame project we learned that this problem is deeper than we thought. Women are facing alarming rates of sexual violence, economic and emotional abuse, and loss of identity. More women than we could have ever imagined are voiceless in taking control of their own lives.
A challenge like this cannot be faced overnight. It is a daily effort that must be made by each woman, her community (men and women), and a tribe of supporters. We want to build a greater support network of monthly women's circles focused on dialogue, introspection and self-realization in areas such as finances, personal safety, and identity. On top of that, we will boost our public workshops and partnerships with women's groups.
If we touch one woman, 10,000 lives are touched. We want to invest in the wellness and empowerment of women in Ecuador, in at-risk and traditional communities, because we know women are the agents of positive change. In the long-term we want to see more communities support women in their personal freedom, economic independence, physical and emotional safety, and self-confidence to lead to lasting transformations, greater dream fulfillment, and more inclusive societies.
