JAY4T plans to equip a resource center within it's premises in Kisumu, to provide free personal development training and positive youth development program to 150 youths from the nearby informal settlements in Kisumu.
Informal settlements in Kisumu County are home to many youths who are vulnerable to gang involvement, drugs and substance abuse, unemployment, and homelessness due to the general socioeconomic status of the settlements; which minimizes their opportunities and access to spaces for meaningful engagement and personal development.
This project will improve the space within our premises to be fully equipped for a six months positive youth development program for 150 youths from Kisumu. This project will provide trainers (life coaches), and facilities to enable transfer of learning. This project will help the 150 youths to spearhead initiatives or business solutions for their neighborhood.
The project will empower 150 youths enabling them to rise out of poverty and vulnerability, and provide business solutions for their community thus contributing to a more self-sustaining community and a friendlier community to their fellow young people.
