Restoring the Future for Abandoned Teen Mothers

For an abandoned teenage mother, caring for a child while having limited education and few income opportunities can make the future feel extremely uncertain. Without practical skills or livelihood opportunities, young mothers may remain dependent on others and struggle to provide basic necessities for themselves and their children.

The Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers Program seeks to equip teenage mothers with practical vocational and entrepreneurship skills that can create pathways toward greater economic independence. Depending on individual interests and available opportunities, training may include tailoring, hairdressing, crafts, electrical-related skills, modern farming, poultry, and other locally relevant income-generating activities.

Donor support can help provide training fees, learning materials, equipment, starter kits, mentorship, and follow-up guidance after training. Where appropriate, participants can also receive support to understand savings, budgeting, customer care, and basic enterprise management.

The purpose is not simply to teach a skill, but to help a young mother develop an opportunity that can contribute to household stability and the wellbeing of her child.

A sewing machine, farming starter package, or vocational training opportunity can become the beginning of a different future when accompanied by mentorship and continued support.
