This project will screen, treat, and provide hearing aids and rehabilitation support to 150 deaf children from low-income families. In Nigeria, preventable hearing loss isolates thousands of children. Many cases result from untreated infections, birth complications, or lack of early screening. Families living in poverty cannot afford diagnosis or hearing devices. Without intervention, children fall behind in school, struggle to communicate, and face lifelong exclusion. Silence limits their education, confidence, and economic future.
This project will provide: Professional hearing screening for 150 children. Medical referrals and treatment where possible. High-quality hearing aids for eligible children. Speech and listening rehabilitation support. Parent education for long-term care. Working with certified health professionals and local partners, we will ensure proper fitting, follow-up care, and sustained impact beyond device distribution.
Early hearing intervention can permanently change a child's life. Restored hearing improves speech development, academic performance, and social inclusion.
