Christian families forced from their homes by violent attacks live in temporary shelters or camps with little security. This project will restore safe, secure homes for 50 such families by providing building materials, labour and local skills. Your gift will help a family move from a tarpaulin-roofed hut to a dwelling they can call their own again.
Several displaced families in the north central region of Nigeria now live in makeshift shelters or tents, unable to repair walls, obtain new roofs or secure doors and windows. They cannot rebuild on their own due to lost income. Farms and fields are burned, villagers are forced out and the loss of shelter becomes both symbol and reality of the trauma faced. Day after day they face the elements, insecurity and uncertainty about whether they will ever return home.
We will partner with local building teams and the families themselves to rebuild or repair homes in their village settings. Each household will receive essential materials such as roofing sheets, doors, windows and wall repairs, and be involved in the work so the restored home becomes a base for safety and stability once more.
When a family has a safe home again, children sleep under a proper roof, parents rest without fear and the community begins to regain strength. A home is more than walls and roof, it is a symbol of belonging, healing and continuity. As 50 families move into restored homes, they help rebuild neighbourhoods and reclaim life after upheaval.
