A widow whose husband passed away three years ago, Mona is now solely responsible for raising her 13 year old daughter and 4 year old son. After her husband’s death, it became extremely difficult to make ends meet. Her children had to drop out of school and were now deprived of basic education due to financial strain. A neighbour helped Mona stand on her feet by teaching her how to stitch clothes. Mona would sew clothes for females in her neighbourhood and earned just enough to be able to put food on the table.
Mona had just gotten back on her feet when she felt her vision getting blurry. She was unable to stitch clothes as it would put a tremendous strain on her eyes. Troubled, she went to a local hospital where she was recommended glasses. The glasses provided only a temporary relief as they became useless after a certain time because of the growing blurriness. She went to a local eye clinic next where she was recommended a cataract surgery. Mona was in no position to afford any surgery at this chaotic point in her life. Soon she was almost entirely deprived of her vision. Her children would cry everyday seeing their mother in this condition. Mona fervently prayed day and night for a miracle to save her sight.
Her prayers were finally answered as she got to know about LRBT Hospital in Pasrur. At LRBT, she underwent a cataract surgery after which her sight was restored. Mona could not be more thankful to LRBT and its donors who gave her life back expecting nothing in return. Her children were overcome with joy that their mother was able to see clearly once again.
