Dear donors,
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in Nigeria, leaving many people unable to work, read, or care for themselves. Although cataract surgery is simple and effective, most low-income families cannot afford it. This project will provide free cataract surgeries for 500 Nigerians in rural and underserved communities. Each surgery takes less than 30 minutes but restores sight and independence for life.
Trained doctors will carry out the operations using basic surgical equipment, lenses, and recovery medicines. Initial donations have been received, but they are not enough to begin full surgical outreach. Additional funds are needed for medical supplies, hospital support, and patient follow-up care. Your support will help people living in darkness see again, return to work, and live with dignity.
Warm regards,
