‘Good–Day–Everyone’
The State of Emergency continues in Peru, yet Axenon Ikanwe has still not missed a single broadcast. As we approach completing 4 years on the air we have a lot of ideas on how to carry the program forward through the challenges of the pandemic. We look forward to sharing that with you all once we have finalized our plan in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile we have been blessed to receive continued support from the philanthropic project Shipibo Joi, whose name literally means the Voice, Word, Message or Language of the Shipibo, and is committed to raising awareness and gathering support for the regenerative stewardship of Shipibo-Konibo-Xetebo (She-PEA-bow, Koo-KNEE-bow, SHEW-tew-bow)* ancestral land and the intergenerational transmission of traditional knowledge, culture, and language.
Shipibo Joi has committed to match up to $10,000.00 for all donations received through GlobalGiving over the next fiscal fiscal year of October 2020-September 2021. That represents 1/3 of our needed operating expenses!
Please consider becoming an ally of this landmark Indigenous Shipibo-Konibo radio program and start a recurring $10 donation today.
*The ‘e’ in the Shipibo-Konibo language is a challenging sound unused in the English language, it is a bit like the ‘e’ sound in ‘ew’ as in ‘Eww…, that’s gross!’ without the ‘w’ sound at the end.
