Coral Bay Community Council's Ridge to Reef Watershed Education Program hosted a booth at the Virgin Islands Children's Museum Kids' Day of Play Event. The booth included a myriad of watershed education materials for youth and families. It featured a LEGO watershed model that was a replica of the coastline in Coral Bay Harbor in St. John. Model highlights included marine life, a mangrove area, natural water ghuts, and land and marine debris. The model was a great entry point to discuss ridge to reef watershed management with youth and families. Additionally, the booth featured an array of watershed handouts for younger and older children. There was also a watershed education kit with supplies to complete an interactive activity at home. The activity focused on how water flows across the land and can pull land debris/pollutants into the ocean. The booth offerings and takeaways provided resources to help community members with expanding learning and improving watershed management practices.
