Hello Partner!
You have done it again through your donation for the Second Chance Education for Orphans in Mbare, Harare, Zimbabwe. Before I share the good news with you, let me take this opportunity to say thank you for the good work through your donation.
I updated you last time that we had 124 children coming at the community study group at Chiedza Child Care Center for their second chance education lessons. I am happy to tell you that 35 of them were assessed and found ready for reintegration into the formal schools. The first 25 were reintegrated when we started the 2014 academic year in January and the second group of 10 started going to the formal school on Tuesday the 13th of May 2014, just this week! Remember our goal together in this project is to provide bridging accelerated learning lessons or catch up lessons so that children who would have dropped out of school can go back to formal schools. Can you imagine the impact you have made in the lives of these children whose hope of ever going back to school was shuttered through poverty and economic hardships which made their parents and relatives fail to pay school fees. You have really stood in the gap for these children.
Interestingly one of the children; Turkely Dube* who was reintegrated in January came first in his class in the first term exams which ended in April. Everyone was excited and we also want you to be excited about him, because you made it for him.
We wish to continue providing the service to many orphans and vulnerable children, including building a classroom block for them since they are learning under the shade, kindly continue giving, share our facebook page: Chiedza Child Care Center with your colleagues and spread the word to your networks.
A very big thank you with smiles from the 35 children!
