Dear Friends and Partners,
Blessing`s* journey to success is unfolding showing all signs of a bright and great future. As a young lad who has been under Chiedza Child Care Centre`s wing for more than 4 years (being assisted with schools fees payment and stationery provision), is proving his prowess in the academic arena after having won more than 3 awards for his great performance in school.
After failing to get access to education which might have otherwise shattered a child`s hope of having a bright future one day and living the dream, Chiedza Child Care Centre took in Blessing and managed to give him access to education at its community site in Ardebennie. He was enrolled in the Out of School Study group doing primary level.
Blessing lives with his grandmother who is struggling with old age and can hardly fend for the family. She is taking care of Blessing and his 3 siblings, 2 of them are of school going age and the other one finished school but still unemployed. Blessing resides in Mbare where life is very tough and having basic meals a day comes a great burden to his grandmother. His parents passed away when he was still a toddler and the grandmother had to take them in. At first she could afford to send Blessing to school but due to economic hardships and struggle she later failed to raise fees to support Blessing’s educational needs, which forced him to drop-out of school at a tender age.
At Chiedza he was doing grade 4 and was out performing all his colleagues which had him a green light to be reintegrated into formal school at Nharira primary school doing grade 4 and now is a grade 7 student. Blessing has always been dedicated and committed towards his educational work. Blessing’s hardwork have accorded him awards in being the best grade 5 student of the year in 2015, in 2016 he won a trophy for being the best student in Harare South district schools and another certificate for being the most outstanding student at Nharira primary school.
Furthermore, Blessing have been nominated to be the school senior prefect, during a short interview he had with Chiedza’s team, he could not hold himself but express the profound gratitude he had for Chiedza. Blessing sobbed as he narrated his story expressing how he envisioned being a successful student during the time he dropped out of school whilst studying on his own. He is so grateful and happy about his achievements and seeks to achieve the best during his final public exams in 2017.
“I want to be a businessman and take care of my grandmother and siblings , im not happy with the way we live that’s why I am studying hard”, Blessing.
Kindly keep telling your friends and family about our cause. We want to thank you so much for supporting us over all these years. We still need money to get more children back to school. We use the money to buy books, school bags, pay school fees, provide wet feeding for the children and furniture. Kindly follow us on Facebook : Chiedza Child Care Centre.
