In 2025, Educate continues to strengthen its STEM program “Technology with Purpose”, an educational initiative designed to promote equitable access to technology and foster 21st-century skills among children and youth in rural communities of Trinidad, Santa Bárbara.

This program engages children and youth in hands-on learning processes in technology, programming, and robotics, and is implemented at two levels:

Level 1 – Basic Education: School-Age Children

Targeted at boys and girls from public urban schools in Trinidad.

  • In the first semester of 2025, 18 students successfully completed the program.
  • They acquired basic technological skills using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The sessions focused on providing fundamental digital competencies essential for their academic development and future employment opportunities.

Level 2 – Secondary Education: High School Youth

Held weekly at the Educate Youth Center with students from public high schools in Trinidad and surrounding areas.

  • Currently, 27 young people are participating.
  • They receive training in technological tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and take part in hands-on workshops in robotics and programming.
  • They have created functional prototypes such as hydraulic arms, robotic arms, and electric cars.
  • This practical approach strengthens critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Through “Technology with Purpose,” we aim to close the digital divide, build the confidence of rural youth in their own abilities, and prepare them for a future with greater educational and employment opportunities.
