Growing list of products

With the month of Ramadan coming to a conclusion and Lebanon's economy still in poor shape, the rooftop farming project participants felt fortunate and glad to obtain most of the veggies they needed for their Iftar at no cost.

As their expertise and experience increase, so does the variety of vegetables and herbs that are available; parsley, mint, colorful peppers, radishes, thyme, rosemary, Rocca, tomatoes, hindbe, cucumbers, eggplants, broccoli, beetroots, swiss chards, and spinach were all very welcome for the Ramadan Fattoush, the spices used in the oven preparations, and the dishes that the participants created.

The updated plant list now also includes stevia and aloe vera, and most participants were able to share what they produced with friends and family.

Your kind donations are much appreciated, they will be used to build more rooftop gardens as well as to repair or replace planting beds on the older rooftops. With summer coming back, we’ll need to provide water to some of the participants, as there is no rain at all in Lebanon during summer months and the water they receive through taps is salty.
