We sincerely thank you for your continued support and interest in our community-based environmental initiatives. We wish to update you on the progress of our ongoing tree planting project aimed at addressing the growing impacts of climate change and extreme heat across communities in South Sudan.
Apart from 200 seedlings we bought from the funds we got through GlobalGiving platform. The Mawoudit Foundation, in partnership with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) South Sudan, has successfully secured 1200 seedlings to support our reforestation and community greening efforts in Majak Goi Village and Northern Bahr El Ghazal State-Aweil in general. These seedlings are currently available and ready for planting in targeted areas.
However, due to the lack of funding for transportation, we have been unable to deliver the seedlings to the project sites in Majak Goi village and surrounding communities. As temperatures continue to rise and heatwaves become a normal experience for local people, tree planting remains the most practical and sustainable solution to restore shade, improve soil quality, and support local livelihoods.
With your support, we can overcome the logistical challenges and ensure these seedlings reach the ground before the next planting season ends. Every contribution makes a direct difference in combating the impacts of extreme heat and promoting environmental resilience in South Sudan.
