Dear Supporters,
We raised $20 through GlobalGiving. While this amount may seem modest, it has played a big role in the life of one of our youngest patients, 4-month-old Mikayel.
Little Mikayel was recently hospitalized after developing a high fever. Diagnostic tests revealed pancytopenia (a decrease in all blood cells) and splenomegaly (an enlarged spleen). He was immediately transferred to the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia (Yeolyan Hematology Center) for specialized care.
To ensure a precise diagnosis and develop a targeted treatment plan, your contribution was used to cover essential medical examinations. Specifically, the funds were directed toward a bone marrow aspiration (puncture) and PCR testing of spinal fluid for CMV (Cytomegalovirus) and EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus). The total cost for these essential diagnostic procedures was 20,000 AMD, and your $20 contribution was used specifically to cover this expense.
At the Health Fund for Children of Armenia, we believe that an accurate diagnosis is the first step toward the victory over illness. Whether it is through life-saving surgery or critical diagnostic testing like Mikayel’s, your support ensures that no child has to face these challenges alone.
We are deeply appreciative of your continued trust. Every contribution, regardless of its size, brings hope and healing to children like Mikayel and their families.
With heartfelt thanks,
Armen Martirosyan
