When schools reopened in Rwanda after a whole year due to COVID-19 the challenge has been accommodating children. Despite the construction of additional classrooms, still classrooms were over-crowded. This is how SPES NOVA Junior Academy was created to help address the issue. Since then, the school embarked on a long process of finding enough classrooms, school equipment and materials, teachers for 82 kids. Unfortunately, the school still needs basic facilities such as water and toilets.
Despite theories suggesting kids contamination rate is low. It doesn't provide any guarantee anyways amid the so called "variant virus". This keeps humanity at severe risks. Despite vaccinating campaigns uncertainty is real on how long the whole humankind would be vaccinated especially those from the South. Again, preventive measures are still indispensable to prevent the spreading. Through the project we're looking for facilities to ensure kids are prevented from any risk to get contaminated.
Given the spread of the virus scaling down globally, still the World Health Organization recommends handwashing as only way to prevent the disease from spreading. PFC is pleased to endorse this campaign with the aim of helping SPES NOVA Junior acquire necessary facilities to promote quality, sustainable and healthy learning environment in Northern Rwanda through construction of toilets and rain water catchments facilities while serving as a role model for surrounding communities
This campaign is designed under "Nursing for the Future" which is a long-term partnership for SPES NOVA Junion Academy and Partners For Conservation to involve schoolchildren into biodiversity legacy preservation through conservation, protection and promotional activities through a decent learning environment. This campaign aims at strengthening the capacity of the school to serve as a role model for 500 surrounding communities from Gacaca and Gahunga sectors in the area of fighting covid-19.
