Thanks so much for supporting this life-saving project in Uganda.
Funds raised via GlobalGiving had helped to purchase safe birthing kits and ship them to Uganda.
Thanks to you, first Mama Kits were successfully distributed among expectant mothers in Wakiso and Kampala districts at Kawaala Health Centre IV and Wakiso Health Centre IV.
While the government tries to provide free Mama Kits, it cannot meet the growing demand for expectant mothers. Distribution gave us a chance to meet pregnant women and talk to them about the importance of safe birthgiving, importance of good hygiene and newborn care.
Delivery kits were given directly to pregnant mothers. Women and their babies will now be given the chance of a cleaner, safer birth.
The project ‘Safe childbirth in rural Uganda" will promote health delivery systems, optimise access to safe birth and neonatal care in rural and semi-urban settings, and will provide safe, comprehensive and simple life saving solutions.
In the coming months, we will post up a new field update report, so you get to know more about the impact of your contributions.
Thank everyone who has supported our project. Together we are making a real difference!
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
