Dear donor and friend, today I have a nice story for you, a story with, last but not least, a happy ending, which is worth sharing.
Some years ago, we attended a call to a female dog, supposedly been poisoned by her owner. When we came to the place, we in fact saw her dead body lying in a plantation and we noticed she must have had puppies. When we heard some whining from the inside of the house, we called the farmer, who wouldn’t show up. Luckily, the door was not locked, so we went in and took three beautiful puppies with us. They were so floofy and adorable, that it was no problem to find them forever homes. During the following years, we never lost contact to their families, so it was strange that Kaila’s mom suddenly changed her attitude and didn’t share photos or anecdotes anymore.
After some time she finally admitted to have given her “away”, whatever that meant. We were so worried, when we found out later, that Kaila had been abandoned in the streets of a small village, far away from her home. We didn’t hesitate one minute and got up early for the rescue mission. We had to find Kaila!!!! When we reached the village, we found a restaurant in the main park and we asked the owner, if she knew the dog of the poster. And, believe it or not, she told us where to find her, not very far from her restaurant. We went down the street, and then, bingo!!! We found her!!! There she was, just waiting for us, right under the table of a kiosk. It was so incredible, so surreal. She still remembered me and it was easy to get her into the car and home, into the shelter. She fit perfectly in and learnt to play, to socialize with the other dogs, and to be happy again. And as she never gave up the hope to find another family, she moved into her forever home just a few days ago.
