Dear donor and friend. What a dreadful night we spent, guarding our domestic animals from the frenzy of drunkards, addicted to noise and pyrotechnics. For the first time we also witnessed the panic experienced by wildlife. A small group of adolescent possums had climbed on the roof of the house to play. They were happy, running, hiding. Suddenly the banging and explosions began and a small opossum, which had moved away from the others, no longer knew how to get off. It was spinning around, squealing, whistling. She was totally lost, although she already knows the roof well, since they always choose it as their playground and to look at the stars. Although her sisters from the opposite side answered her, also with squeals to guide her, the poor animal for five hours did not manage to meet them again. Next night I put an extra-large plate with fruit for them, because that horror night they couldn’t find anything to eat. Human without empathy, it’s never too late to connect with all sentient beings!
