Dear donor and friend, know Sirius Black and Loki, our twins, who have their own story to tell. We already shared the rescue and pregnancy of their mother Eva, who in August 2023 gave birth to 10 puppies. Adoption day was quite an event, with so many families, excited to receive their new family members and a huge cake to celebrate. Though, Sirius and Loki were not so lucky as we expected. They were given together to a family with children and an older Husky brother, a big house and a garden. Everything seemed so perfect, but one year later their living conditions changed with the rupture of the family. Mother and children moved out and there was no longer playtime or a regular feeding routine. We received some hints and information from the neighbours, such as “the dogs are always hungry, looking for food in the trash”, “the dogs chase our cats and chickens”, “the dogs devastate our gardens, pulling out the plants and flowers”. Their tutor always denied everything, we visited the place, where the dogs lived in a garden full of trash. We talked to him about the option of rehoming, but he promised to change the conditions, and we waited for that change to come. And it came, in the least expected way. One night Sirius Black was poisoned and rescued by a neigbour, who passed by in the very right moment. Which was the perfect occasion for us to revoke the adoption contract and accommodate the twins at the foster´s home, where they were born. They spent there two months in special care, and recently came into the shelter, to explore another lifestyle and socialize with the other members of Vivatma. So far, their life has been a rollercoaster, with deprivation and negligance, but hopefully, there is already a family waiting for two handsome whirlwinds. Our challenge is to find them!!!
