Dear Supporters and Friends,

This report offers a glimpse into how your generous contributions are making a difference in the lives of vulnerable women, girls, and children in Cambodia. From January to May 2025, your support has enabled Mother's Heart to provide critical services, fostering health, safety, and pathways to better futures.

Your support to Mother's Heart has been instrumental in:

  • Providing ongoing support to 133 women and girls, and 131 children in Phnom Penh and Battambang provinces, ensuring they have access to essential maternal and infant health resources and care.
  • Welcoming 12 new women and girls into our program between January and May 2025.
  • Supporting 12 new mothers and their newborns. Your contributions helped us provide vital care during and after pregnancy, giving these babies the best possible start in life.
  • Maintaining the health and well-being of all the women, girls, and children we serve. Thanks to you, we've been able to ensure that everyone remains healthy, with no cases of malnutrition or underweight children.

The intense heat from March to May created significant challenges, impacting the health of pregnant women and requiring us to adapt our activities. We had to delay some program activities to protect the well-being of mothers, babies, and also our staff while remaining flexible and responsive to the unexpected difficulties as it happened on the ground.

Thanks to your generous support, we've been able to:

  • Protect the health and well-being of every woman and child in our program.
  • Ensure healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries for pregnant women and girls.
  • Ensure that there were no cases of malnutrition or underweight children.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children by monitoring babies who are with their mothers or kins, or were placed temporarily in foster homes providing a safe and loving family-like environment.
  • Partner with PSE (Pour Sourire un d'Enfant) Organization early t his year to bring Mother's Heart's crisis pregnancy and reproductive health awareness campaign to their Phnom Penh campus. Our hope through this initiative is to spark important conversations with young people and empower them with essential knowledge needed for health decision-making in their present and future lives.

Case Story: The Power of Your Support in Action - Somanea's Story

We want to share an inspiring update about Somanea, a woman whose journey you've supported. With your help, Somanea and her mother have successfully opened a thriving grocery shop in their village. The community's response has been incredible!  Somanea's relatives provided a small space of land rent-free, and local authorities and neighbours pitched in with materials and labour to build a secure shop.

This means that Somanea and her mother can now stay in their village, care for her child, and run the shop together, instead of having to leave her child and the security of their village to find work. Your support has not only provided them with a livelihood but has also created a stable environment and a space for healing. Importantly, Somanea is also managing a mental health issue stemming from years of physical and emotional abuse by her husband. Her mother serves as her and her child's primary caregiver, a pillar of support for her as she works on her recovery and builds a better life for herself and her child. Somanea's story remind us how your generosity and kindness can fuel lasting change and sustain hope.

Looking ahead, Mother's Heart remain steadfast in our commitment to providing crucial support and services to women and girls facing crisis pregnancies. It is only through your continued generosity and partnership that we can make this vital work possible. Thank you very much.

 With gratitude,

Team Mother's Heart
