We, refugees and people from Darfur are deeply grateful for your kindness and compassionate support, which has enabled us to make a significant impact in the refugee camps.
Thanks to your generosity, in 2024, we purchased 747 safe stoves from refugee women, providing them with a vital source of income. These efficient safe stoves have been distributed to 747 refugee mothers, protecting them and their daughters from the dangers of collecting firewood from the forest.
Additionally, Your contributions are transforming lives, empowering women, and enhancing the safety and well-being of entire communities. Thank you for making this possible.
In fact, In the heart of the refugee camps, a transformative initiative is spearheaded by the Darfur Women Network.
Women Making Safe Stoves
Meet the resilient women in our safe stove production groups. Through their hard work and dedication, they craft these essential stoves, providing a lifeline for their communities.
"These stoves not only help us cook safely but also provide us with an income to support our families," said Fatuma.

"The Darfur Women Network said “ we purchased 747 safe stoves, distributing one to each refugee mother. This initiative protects women and girls from the dangers of collecting firewood in the forest."
Halima, one of the refugee mothers who received a safe stove, said, "With this stove, I feel safer. I no longer have to risk my life collecting firewood."
These stoves have a profound impact on the safety and well-being of refugee mothers and their daughters. Darfur Women Network is pleased to see the smiling faces of mothers and girls reflecting their feeling of protection from rape and hostile attacks when they collect firewood to cook for their families.
