This project strengthens the safety, health, and protection of children and adolescents in Puerto Plata through education, gender-based violence prevention, psychological support, and community engagement. It empowers youth with knowledge on human rights and sexual and reproductive health while building support networks and coordinating with local authorities to ensure safer, more resilient communities.
Children and adolescents in Puerto Plata face limited access to reliable information on health, human rights, and violence prevention. This leaves them vulnerable to early pregnancy, STIs, and unsafe environments. Gender-based violence remains high, and many young people lack psychological support, protection, and guidance. Communities need stronger tools and coordination to keep youth safe and informed.
This project equips children and adolescents with knowledge on health, human rights, and violence prevention through workshops, school sessions, and community outreach. It strengthens protection by training local leaders, providing psychological support to survivors, and coordinating with authorities. By creating safe spaces and support networks, the project empowers youth and improves community response to violence.
This project will foster a safer, healthier generation of children and adolescents in Puerto Plata. By strengthening knowledge, resilience, and support networks, youth will be better equipped to make informed decisions, prevent violence, and protect their rights. Communities will develop stronger coordination with institutions, creating lasting systems of prevention and response. Over time, this will reduce violence, improve well-being, and build a more equitable society.
