Sail Into The Future 2020

Hello from Shining Light School...Hope you are all enjoying the summer!

As we have sailed into the future from 2020, to 2023 the Shining Light School has continued to provide education for  children in the small village town in Ishahayi, Nigeria. Our organiztion helps provide education, but we also provide maintenance on the facilities and we  provide for the continuous needs of the students. At the moment, the school is in need of a new roof, new desks and new life jackets. The roof is badly leaking and with the changing climates world-wide, rainy season has been continuing into October, sometimes November. The student's learning will be interupted if the roof over their head doens't provide shelter from those rains. They are also in need of new desk. Several desks have broken over the years, and many of the students are sharing desks with other students. This is quite uncomfortable and doesn't help the child fully focus on their studies. Life jackets are necessary as we have the boat that visits surrounding villages and transports students to school.

Since it is summer break, now is the perfect time to acquire those itmes and have them ready to help welcome the students back in Septmeber 2023. We have launched a campaign to help encourage funds towards our main projects right now:

1. A New Roof

2. New Desks 

3. New/Replacing damaged Life Jackets
