Greetings from Indian Dreams Foundation!
We are very grateful to receive your support for our project that will help to develop skills of the women & girls in underprivileged communities by providing them sanitary napkins manufacturing training.
88% of India's 355 million women do not have access to sanitary pads. Lack of awareness and affordability means that sand, ash, rags or dirty cloth are used instead of sanitary pads, leading to blistering, soreness, infections and long-term health issues. The findings for MHM 2018 survey conducted by Indian Dreams Foundation in 11 slums of Agra, U.P revealed that 71.27 % of girls & women are not using sanitary pads during menstruation.
However, this micro project tackles problems of both awareness & affordability of the sanitary products in urban slums of Agra city India. The manufacturing of sanitary pads will be done by the women and for the women. Women & girls will be trained in marketing also thus help them to become self-dependent.
But unfortunately, we haven’t received sufficient funds to start the initiative, so we request you to give your support to another project on GlobalGiving that improves the lives of women & girls by providing them appropriate education & knowledge about menstrual hygiene management.
