Save 1 Million Lives -A Project for Organ Donation

By DTI Foundation | DTI Foundation

Strengthening donation and transplantation through education

Over the past months, DTI Foundation has continued advancing the “Save 1 Million Lives” project by supporting the training and development of healthcare professionals involved in organ donation and transplantation.

Our work focuses on a clear objective: helping health systems improve their capacity to identify donation opportunities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and strengthen donation and transplantation pathways. Through specialized training, practical learning experiences, expert-led sessions, and international knowledge exchange, participants gain tools that can be applied in their own hospitals and countries.

During this reporting period, DTI Foundation has continued delivering educational activities that combine scientific knowledge, clinical practice, ethical reflection, and organizational strategies. These activities help professionals better understand the key elements of effective donation and transplantation systems, including donor detection, donor management, coordination, communication, teamwork, and quality improvement.

The project also promotes international collaboration by bringing together professionals from different healthcare contexts. This exchange of experiences is essential to build stronger networks and support the development of sustainable donation and transplantation programs worldwide.

The support received through GlobalGiving helps us continue creating educational opportunities and strengthening the skills of professionals who play a direct role in saving lives. Each trained professional can have a multiplier effect, bringing knowledge and improved practices back to their teams, hospitals, and health systems.

In the coming months, DTI Foundation will continue expanding its training and capacity-building efforts, supporting healthcare professionals and institutions committed to improving donation and transplantation outcomes.

We are sincerely grateful to all GlobalGiving donors and supporters. Your generosity helps us continue working toward a world where more patients can access life-saving transplantation.
