Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the Save 50 Preterm Babies with Life-Saving Oxygen project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and concern for newborns fighting for survival during their first days of life.
Many babies born prematurely face serious breathing difficulties because their lungs are not fully developed. In numerous public and rural health facilities, the equipment needed to support these fragile newborns is either unavailable or insufficient. As a result, families are often forced to seek costly care elsewhere or face heartbreaking outcomes when treatment cannot be accessed quickly enough.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the amount currently available is not sufficient to begin implementation of the project. Additional support is needed before oxygen equipment, delivery accessories, installation materials, and training activities can be procured.
This project aims to provide oxygen machines, nasal cannulas, and other essential newborn care supplies to health facilities serving low-income communities. Healthcare workers will also receive practical guidance on the use and maintenance of the equipment to help improve newborn care services.
Access to oxygen can make the difference between life and death for a baby struggling to breathe. Strengthening the capacity of local health facilities allows newborns to receive care closer to their families and reduces delays that can occur when referrals are required.
Beyond the initial beneficiaries, the equipment supplied through this project will continue serving future newborns who require respiratory support. This means the benefits of the project can extend far beyond the first group of babies targeted.
We remain committed to launching this initiative and continue working toward the resources needed to begin the first phase. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates, photographs, and stories from the health facilities and newborns who will benefit.
Thank you for helping improve the chances of survival for vulnerable newborns.
Warm regards,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
