Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank those who have supported the Save 50 Preterm Babies with Life-Saving Oxygen project. Your concern for newborns born too early and struggling to breathe is deeply appreciated.
In many parts of Nigeria, preterm babies face serious breathing difficulties because public and rural health centers lack oxygen machines and basic supplies. Families who depend on these facilities often cannot afford private hospitals, and without oxygen support, many babies are lost within the first hours or days after birth.
This project is designed to provide oxygen machines, nasal cannulas, and emergency supplies to selected public and rural clinics that serve low-income families. Health workers will also receive guidance on how to use and care for the equipment so they can support fragile newborns during their most critical period.
At this stage, although donations have been received, the funds available are not enough to fund or kickstart the project. Procurement of oxygen machines and delivery of supplies cannot begin until additional support is secured.
Once sufficient funding is available, the equipment will be installed and used to support at least 50 preterm babies, with the capacity to help many more newborns in the future. Strengthening care at local clinics will also reduce the need for emergency referrals and help families access care closer to home.
Thank you for standing with vulnerable newborns and their families. Continued support will help bring breathing support to babies who urgently need it.
With appreciation,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
