At age 5, Alejandro was diagnosed with the Coat´s disease, a chronic process of retinal detachment; He was under review for several months and 3 years later when he was going to undergo surgery to put on a prosthesis, an X-ray was required in which he found an abnormal mass in his eye and was immediately referred to our Hospital.
Three months ago he arrived at the Children's Hospital San Vicente Fundacion, where we diagnosed him with ocular cancer, he began his chemotherapy process and his quality of life has improved markedly. Now he is a much more cheerful and motivated child. He already had his first surgery with our team of specialists and it was successful, according to him, since then he feels no pain or discomfort.
For his mother, Alejandro is his reason for living; He has taught him that there is no reason to be afflicted and that the illness is momentary and that he also has all the strength to overcome and defeat the disease because his faith is intact.
Alejandro dreams of being a builder, that's why he will begin to study in a virtual way to recover the classes he has lost due to his treatment. He wants that, like him, many children also have a successful recovery, that is why he always tells them: "Be calm that they will heal and everything will be fine".
Your contribution helps many children like Alejandro feel this message in his heart and receive the appropriate treatment.
