Save a School with Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT)

Sandhya a student of the Tamil Government Higher Primary school who is from a poor family and parents face financial crisis at the end of every month when they do not have money to even eat. Sandhya is studying in 7th standard now having taken a break of 4 years .Her parents had decided to separate due to contstant fighting at home .She had to discontinue her education and go to work sincethe  family was in severedebt with her father abandoning them .Nowafter 4 years her father has reunited with the family, so Sandhya decided to continue her education and approached school to give her admision in school.

We at Ashwini Charitable Trust have adopted the Government Tamil Higher Primary school in Murphy Town to get more children back to their school and as part of this endeavor we are continuously doing renovations to help the children come to a clean safe environment to study.We also run many programs in the school.

• Our volunteer based teaching programs include Science Experiments taught by a science teacher,English Reading and Comprehension by a retired teacher who volunteers every day, Volunteers teech each and every child Spoken English since the children are in a vernacular medium school.
• Birthdays of the children were celebrated each month. The children cut a huge cake and eat it with their friends in school along with potato chips.
• In order to improve the Saturday attendance in school we are motivating the children with exciting newsnacks every week.This has worked well andtheattendence has drastically improved in the last few saturdays.
• We are having regular Yoga classes taken by trained and qualified teachers so that it will help the overall health and concentraion powers of the children

We appeal for more funds through global giving, so that the poverty stricken parents and their underprivileged children are attracted by the facilities and amenities and come back to school regularly.
