Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT) and Government T. Higher Primary School (GTHPS) have been working together since 2013 as a part of the School Adoption Programme. ACT focuses on a number of critical elements to give the school the much-needed support in order to establish an environment that is favourable for learning.
Our ACT Team, which consists of teachers, programme coordinators, and a programme manager, has been concentrating on the preparatory and foundational levels of the school as part of the ACT Education Programme at the school. We also engage number of talented Interns and Volunteers who help in the development of the students at GTHPS.
From August 2022, ACT has assisted the GTHPS school by providing them with a full time teacher. The teacher facilitates the overall development of the child, primarily focusing on the learning of the numbers and alphabet, reading, counting which will increase their motivation for learning. The teacher also builds their capacity outside of class, by engaging the students in extracurricular activities like sports, art projects, and other activities.
Distribution of books and stationery at GTHPS by ACT:
For the academic year 2023–2024, ACT supplied bag, pencil box to GTHPS students. By ensuring that the students have access to necessary resources, this material will support their academic path. ACT gave necessary things to the kids for the academic year 2023–2024 in an effort to create a positive learning environment for the GTHPS pupils.
33 families at GTHPS received provisions from ACT during the month of June 2022. It was observed that GTHPS students’ families come from a very poor background. Some of the parents find it very difficult to have one time meal at a day. Looking at all this ACT decided to provide provisions that involve food grains, sugar and oil. By providing these supplies ACT helps the families who are facing financial difficulties.
We also celebrated the birthdays of the children. It is a tradition at ACT, to celebrate the birthdays of all the children for the month on the last Saturday. Not only do the children celebrate it with their friends and teachers, they also get to take a cake back home to celebrate it with their family.
We would like to take a moment to express our immense gratitude for all the support extended by our donors.
