The 2022 breeding season is now coming to a close.
We are pleased to report that at the Zoo, ten Griffon Vulture chicks successfully been hatched and another one hatched at Chai Bar Nature Reserve in the Carmel mountains in northern Israel.
Two are being raised at the Zoo, two at Chai Bar Carmel and all the rest were placed with adoptive parents.
This year showed an improvement on last year’s numbers and we are hoping that this trend will continue.
Additionally, five lesser kestrels were hatched but unfortunately only two survived past their first week.
Stay Cool!
