Hello Birds of Prey Supporters,
We are delighted to share a special end-of-year update with you. In November, we held our annual meeting with the Israel Nature & Parks Authority to review the current breeding season.
During the past year, 28 eggs arrived at our incubators. Of these, 18 were fertile, and 15 chicks successfully hatched, of which were placed in adoptive nests. The breeding season was unusually long, with the first egg laid on January 10, 2025, and the final chick hatching on September 6, 2025.
This year marked a major milestone: for the first time in eight years, a chick hatched from an egg collected at the Gamla Cliffs in northeastern Israel, following a prolonged decline in breeding success there.
Overall, 2025 was our most successful year to date. With the exception of one chick that did not survive, all hatchlings were transferred to acclimation cages in preparation for release into the wild.
Thank you for your continued support. Stay tuned for more updates in 2026, and we wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
