Hello birds of prey supporters,

We last reported to you about an incident involving a griffon vulture imported from Spain to bolster our local population. Over recent months, the Jerusalem Zoo has assisted the Israel Nature and Parks Authority in its efforts to import more individuals to further populate the wild in Israel and to increase our local genetic pool.

60 vultures were brought in from Spain, Armenia and Cyprus and the Jerusalem Zoo assisted by acting as a quarantine center for the birds before their release. While here, our staff examined the birds for disease and injury and gave them some TLC.

Most of these birds have been transferred to the Nature and Parks Authority for release and we look forward to reporting on more successes soon!

Thank you for your continued support of this important wildlife conservation project.
