Hello birds of prey supporters,
Since we last reported to you, we have been rather busy with arrangements for the transfer of a further 8 Griffon vultures from a Spanish rescue and rehabilitation center. These birds will arrive on 4th November 2017 and spend their quarantine period here at the Biblical Zoo.
From here, and in cooperation with the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the best candidates for release and breeding will be determined. Those individuals slated for release will be sent to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority acclimatization center prior to release. Those kept for breeding will join our existing breeding core in the Birds of Prey Aviary here at the Zoo.
Thank you for your continued support of this important wildlife conservation project.
